According to the Cornish Guardian, plans are underway to create a network of new cycle routes across the county, providing cyclists with the opportunity to explore the dramatic landscapes and hidden by-ways of this beautiful region.
A 30km ‘Bay to Bay’ route crossing the south-west of the peninsula has been proposed. Extending from Mousehole near the tip of the county across to the north coast, the trail would take cyclists through Marazion and Hayle before arriving in delightful St Ives.
To the north, a number of trails running from Truro across to Perranporth and Newquay are planned if funding can be acquired. In the south-east of the county, further routes are proposed linking Looe on the south coast with Liskeard and Lanhydrock inland and Torpoint to the east.
In combination with the hugely popular Camel Trail, running from Bodmin in the north of the county to the coastal town of Padstow, these plans should provide cyclists with access throughout the county.
