Following two years of fantastic fund-raising, Cornwall will be taking ownership of its new air ambulance later this month, according to the Cornish Guardian.
Currently being fitted out with a suitable, medical interior, the helicopter is due to become operational from the beginning of April 2020, coinciding with the 33rd anniversary of the start of the life-saving service.
Cornwall Air Ambulance launched the ‘New Heli’ campaign to raise £2,500,000 for a new air ambulance in April 2018 and the results are to be seen flying above the county shortly.
Cornwall Air Ambulance provides support across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. They have flown 28,800 missions since they began in 1987. That’s more than 800 possibly life-saving missions every single year.
