After a year of extraordinary community fund-raising, Port Isaac RNLI had reached their target of £52,000 for a new D-Class inshore lifeboat by October 2018.
The new boat was delivered to the vibrant North Cornish fishing village in October of this year and has now undergone a naming ceremony and service of dedication. The boat has been named the Pride of Port Isaac (Goeth Pothusek).
The new boat was handed over to the RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Chris Bolton, by the Cornish Bard, Jon Cleave, who is also a member of the local community.
Continued fund-raising means that the Port Isaac RNLI will be able to undertake improvements to the facilities at the station in the village.
