Research conducted by Mintel has found the use of fake tanning products is declining – and we think it is because people are after a real Cornish tan!
Over the past year, just 13% of Britons have used self-tanning products, falling from 17% in 2014.
The amount of people paying to use sunbeds also fell from 11% to 8%, while salon spray tans dropped from 9% to 7%.
It seems the general population is after a more natural look, a trend that was embraced by 2015’s London Fashion Week, where the models took a more subtle approach to make-up.
Jack Duckett, consumer lifestyles analyst at Mintel, suggested the fall in demand was due to “the launch of more premium variants”.
Here at the Beach House, we think it is because Brits are after a proper Cornish tan, sure to be gained while frolicking in the county’s sun, sea and sand!
