Cornwall is home to many a TV chef, including Nathan Outlaw, Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.
Now Gordon Ramsay has plans to move in, having purchased a property in Rock in June 2015.
However, it is not all plain-sailing for the Hell’s Kitchen star, as he wants to knock the entire thing down and start again – despite having paid £4.4 million for the property.
According to the Land Registry, that price tag makes it 2015’s most expensive purchase in Cornwall, and incredibly, the second highest on record.
It is proposed that the 1920s building will be torn down and replaced with a holiday home equipped with two kitchens, a gym, a swimming pool and five en-suite bedrooms.
A further three bedrooms would feature in a newly constructed boathouse, set amongst the 1.3 acres of garden.
Rock is one of the most expensive places to buy in the country and is a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous – including Princes William and Harry, and Prime Minister David Cameron.
A local councillor said Gordon Ramsay’s plan would be considered “in due course.”
