Martin Clunes – aka Doc Martin – has been awarded an OBE at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The actor has enjoyed a long-standing career, with highlights including the TV series Men Behaving Badly and the film Shakespeare in Love.
More recently he is best known for his lead role in ITV’s Doc Martin – filmed here in our very own Port Isaac.
He has received an OBE for services to drama, charity and the community of Dorset, where he lives with his wife, daughter and many animals.
The ceremony was overseen by the Queen at Windsor Castle. Afterwards, Mr Clunes explained what he would do with the medal: “If I’m feeling sad or scared I might put my medal on at home and feel a bit better.”
