This weekend sees the return of the Falmouth Oyster Festival, a fantastic event that celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season. And now we’ve heard Port Isaac’s Fisherman’s Friends are going to top the bill, so this year’s festivities are shaping up to be the best yet!
Held from 11th to 14th October in Events Square, the Falmouth Oyster Festival showcases the diversity and quality of Cornish seafood. Visitors will be treated to live cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, food and drink stalls full to bursting with Cornish produce, and fun and games in the form of shell painting, boat races, oyster shucking and more!
Live music is also a key feature of the festival, with Fisherman’s Friends now confirmed to headline Saturday night. The boys from Port Isaac always are a great crowd pleaser, and their soulful sea shanties promise to take your breath away. The evening is entirely free, so be sure to pencil in a trip to Falmouth this weekend.
