A selection of the South West’s top chefs descended upon The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow last month to launch the latest regional restaurant guide.
Now in its 20th year, The Trencherman’s Guide features 109 leading restaurants across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol, Bath, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. Each establishment was invited to appear in the prestigious publication by a leading panel of food and drink experts who selected only those restaurants with consistently high ratings from the likes of The Michelin Guide and the AA restaurant Guide.
The 2012-2013 edition was launched at The Seafood Restaurant, where guests such as Michael Caines, Jill Stein and the Tanner Brothers were treated to a specially designed ‘Great British’ tasting menu, all prepared by some of the South West’s most famous chefs.
Jack Stein, who was in charge of the canapés, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the launch of the 2012-2013 Trencherman’s Guide at The Seafood Restaurant. We’ve been associated with the guide since its inception and believe it holds a special position in promoting excellence throughout the region.”
The guide is available in print free of charge from participating restaurants, or from www.trenchermans-guide.com.
