A newly constructed bouldering wall has been unveiled at the Eden Project, the South West’s largest tourist attraction.
Bouldering is an up-and-coming sport in which climbers tackle small but very awkward boulder-sized objects.
The new wall, which is set at all angles and covered in different sized holes, will give bouldering enthusiasts in the region a great place to train – something they have been lacking for many years now.
Visitors are also being encouraged to try their hand at the sport, as the low height and padded landings make it a safe place for those with no prior experience to have a go.
Simon Young, the architect who designed the wall, said: “I’ve been climbing for 33 years and this is by far the best dedicated bouldering venue in the South West.
“As well as being an outdoor all-weather climbing attraction set in a stunning location, it’s also a fantastic training venue for both serious climbers and those wanting a taste of the sport.”
