Golf Courses Near Port Isaac

Wednesday, Nov 2, 2011

If you’re keen to get out on to the green, Port Isaac is a great place to stay. There’s a variety of golf courses a short distance from the village, some of which we’ve explored in greater detail below:-

1. St Enodoc

Located near Rock and spread along the cliff edge is St Enodoc Golf Club, a beautiful course boasting stunning coastal views. There are two different rounds to choose from: the Church course offers a tough test for even the most experienced golfer while the Holywell Course is a shorter version perfect for a more relaxing round. (Take note that a handicap certificate is required for the Church course.) Whichever way you go, expect rolling dunes, stunning scenery and an excellently maintained course.

2. Roserrow

Roserrow Golf Club and Country Club near Polzeath has something to offer everyone. Most importantly, the course itself is open to all, no matter what your age or ability. If you’re intent on practicing your swing, there’s a covered driving range based in a picturesque setting. What’s more, there’s a leisure club with a pool, gym and spa facilities. So if you’ve got non-golfers in tow, Roserrow is sure to keep them happy too!

3. Bowood

Twenty minutes drive towards Camelford and you’ll reach Bowood Park Hotel and Golf Club. Sat amongst 230 acres of parkland, this is a truly spectacular location. Once the Deer Park of the Black Prince, you’ll find rolling hills, open grassland and thickets of woodland. And then there’s the course! Winner of the Golf Monthly Gold Course Award, it is one of the courses of the South West, even boasting U.S.G.A specification courses. Catering to people of all ages and abilities, this is a must-do for all golfers.
