Beach House Port Isaac Cornwall Large luxury self catering holiday cottage with breathtaking sea views

Cornwall’s First Two-Starred Michelin Restaurant

Friday, Mar 11, 2011

Cornwall-based chef Nathan Outlaw has recently been awarded another Michelin star to add to his collection, making his eponymous named restaurant the first in Cornwall to receive the accolade.

Located at the St Enodoc Hotel in Rock, you’ll be pleased to hear that Restaurant Nathan Outlaw is just a hop, skip and a jump from nearby Port Isaac. You’ll find a selection of scrumptious seafood on the tasting menu, all sustainably caught off the Cornish coast by day boats.

In fact, the food is a smorgasbord of local and seasonal produce, and it is this to which Nathan attributes his success. This second Michelin star is, he says, “testament to the quality of Cornish fish and shellfish and to the incredible local ingredients available to me. If I didn’t have such fantastic suppliers I wouldn’t be in this fantastic position.”

Originally established in Fowey, Nathan opened the small and intimate venue in Rock in February 2010. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, with the Good Food Guide naming it Best Seafood Restaurant in the UK and fifth Best Restaurant overall. Aged just 33, it’s fair to say that Nathan has come a long way from the boy turning toast on the breakfast shift at his father’s restaurant!
